A spot like this, just 45 minutes outside San Francisco, is nearly impossible to book. Luckily I have friends who did the dirty work for me. Good to have friends like that.

Palm Springs is like traveling back in time, or stepping into a Mad Men episode — whichever mode of time travel you prefer. Desert X exhibition is here through the month of April and we joined the hordes to sneak a peek at the mirror house "Mirage" set up against the desert hills. We came dressed for the part.
